Shine this Summer with our Guide to Mixing Metals

FOPE Mixing Metals
As weddings, garden parties and social events make a comeback here are some top tips on how to update your summer style by mixing your metals!

Whether you are set to enjoy a sophisticated staycation, planning a chic city break or jetting off on a long awaited holiday, making a stylish statement is essential.

The good news for fashionistas is you can transform your look by making some simple style swaps and opt for the latest jewellery look simple by mixing your metals – the trend of summer 2021

This effortless update to your seasonal wardrobe can be achieved by adding the right accessories to your look, whether that’s a stacked ring of white, rose and yellow gold or using your favourite silver pendant on a delicate yellow gold chain, you will be sure to shine this summer!

Mixing metals was once considered a BIG fashion no-no, but that’s all changing as we embrace the style of our European cousins who have long acknowledged that mixing metallics is a go-to for the fashion forward.

One thing that we particularly love about this latest trend of mixing different metal tones, such as yellow, rose or white gold; it is a fabulous way to accentuate diamonds, add depth to a classic or give new life to a once loved piece.

However, creating balance is essential. Be brave, be bold and don’t be afraid to mix your metals in lots of different ways. Why not mix it up by wearing a selection of stylish silver and gold rings, earrings and necklaces to balance out your own personal look and take on this top trend.

Baker Brothers' Top Tips for Mixing Metals

1. Create balance
Balance is essential. Don’t be afraid to mix your metals in all different locations. Consider your look, it may look odd if your earrings and necklaces are all yellow gold, but all your rings are silver. Mix it up, wear a mix of silver and gold rings, earrings and necklaces to balance out your look.

2. Stick to similar styles
New to mixing metals? At Baker Brothers we recommend opting for consistency with style - stick to mixing metals, rather than mixing dainty and chunky jewellery styles. If your normal go-to is wearing delicate gold necklaces, start by adding an elegant silver pendant, leaving the chunky silver chain for another day.

3. Pair your everyday jewellery with something special
We all have that special piece of jewellery that we wear every day. Our recommendation is to keep the metals consistent and then mix in different colours to create that ‘going-out’ look. Trust us, the more experienced you get, the more you’ll want to mix metals everyday.

4. Don't be afraid to experiment
At Baker Brothers Diamonds, we’re all about helping you to curate your own personal style. From layered necklaces to stacked rings, it’s all about finding a style that suits you!
