Classically Styled For A Modern Era

Renowned for their classically styled watches the Master collection Moon phase from Longines is no exception. This particular watch comes in at £2,190, and offers exceptional value for money taking in to considering its array of features.

The master collection Moon Phase watches features a 40mm round case crafted from stainless steel with a high polished finish. Despite packing an array of features inside the arc/domed bezel breaks up the case nicely without looking blocky – The curvature also ensures a pleasant wrist presence, fitting under the cuff of any jacket smoothly.

Another interesting feature of this watch is the transparent case back, which like the front of the case is protected by scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass, allowing you to view the calibre L687 movement which we will come back to later in the review.

Moving on to the dial, a silver “barleycorn” design has been used, which can only be described as a crosshatching texture. Attention to detail is apparent throughout the watch and the bold standout numerals are no exception, having been cropped by sub dials from chronograph and accompanied by blue hands which really make the dial pop.

Often an overlooked feature, the deluxe brown strap on this timepiece is crafted from high quality alligator leather and features a triple safety folding clasp teamed with a push-piece opening mechanism.

Two straps are available for this timepiece; standard and an XL alternative

As mentioned previously, the Longines chronograph moon phase is housing the Calibre L687 automatic movement; beating at 28'800 vibrations per hour and providing 54 hours of power reserve.

So what about functions? As you may be able to tell just by looking at the dial this timepiece is packed with functions; Hours, minutes, small seconds with 24 hours indicator at 9 o'clock. Date indicated by the half moon central hand. Moon phase display at 6 o'clock.
